If you haven’t read the first two books in this series, I suggest you stop reading and read those first. The book isn’t a standalone, so you’ll get confused REALLY easily. Plus the first two books are amazing! The book starts where the second one ends, Abby Sinclair lost the beloved key to her enemy. There’s still a love triangle between Taliver (who she marries) and Ion, creating an underlying tension the reader will come to enjoy. Abby has lost her memory and both men try to snap her out of it. She, of course, makes decisions that make situations worse (that’s a theme with her now) and those decisions make the plot twist and turn with adventure on every page.
I’m not a fan of love triangles at all. At first, it was okay because almost every YA and romance nowadays need some sort of love drama to keep the book interesting, but it seriously annoys me that she hasn’t made her choice. She even gets caught in the act, feels bad, then goes back to being wishy-washy between the two. Abby really annoyed me in that aspect. Seriously, just choose! *Groans* Otherwise, her character growth is noticeable, which is nice. You’ll get to see the secondary characters grow with her and find out different sides to them. The pacing was nice and fast, you don’t get bored at all. All around I liked the book, it had adventure, love, friendship, fantasy, and a little bit of mystery.
