If you're looking for a sweet summer romance, this is the perfect book for you. Amanda's husband passed away, leaving her to raise their young daughter, Regina. Living in an Amish community, Amanda figured that she would just make do. She wasn't looking for love or a second marriage, but when her neighbor's brother, Roman, came to their small town, Amanda discovered that she may have to give love another chance. Their relationship does not have long to flourish-only one week. At first, Amanda does really think anything between the two of them could be possible, but as she gets to know Roman, she slowly warms to him. Will Amanda get her chance at a relationship with Roman or will their time be up when his vacation ends?
Amanda's character is fun to read about. She is sweet and gentle, very loving towards her daughter. The reader will want her to be happy as she has already made many concessions in life. Regina was a nice addition to the story as she provided some comedic relief and added to the possibility of a family. Roman was charismatic and a bit of an enigma in the beginning of the book. I was unsure whether or not he would decide to form more than a friendship with Regina. The secondary characters provided background information and interesting dialogue. Overall, this book is recommended to adult readers.
